Possessing His Kingdom

Thoughts and Prayers of Irene Madding

About Possessing His Kingdom

First of all there are many kingdoms but the Kingdom of which we are speaking is of the Kingdom of God. When we invited Christ into our life, to rule and reign over our being, there is a birthing of a new spirit man in you. You become “born again”. You have now entered into the “Kingdom of God”. Your citizenship is registered in this Kingdom, and you are now a citizen born into this new nation, the nation of God, under the rule of God and His King Jesus Christ. You are akin to the community of all other citizens of this nation who are submitted to the lordship of our King Jesus Christ. Possessing jointly the territory of the Kingdom of God under God’s government. And you say where is this Kingdom we are suppose to possess. Well I’m glad you asked! The answer is found in
Joshua 1:3 God said , “Every place that the sole of your foot has tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.”
You see we are in this world but we are not of it just as Jesus said of himself and his disciples in John 17: 14- 16. As a child of God we are in a New Nation under the rule of God and His dominion and subject to His rule and reign. Jesus said,
“My Kingdom is not of this world” John18:36a.
And He also said, in John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Therefore as His children in His Kingdom
we will not be able to do things the way the world does. For it is contrary to His ways, His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8. He is the vine, we are the branches. If we continue to remain in Him and endure then we will bring forth much fruit for without Him we can do nothing. It is not about us or our agenda’s but it is about knowing just as Jesus knew what His eternal purpose for coming to the earth was about. And as a man, not God. He never let anything get in the way or lead Him in another direction. He kept His eyes on the Father and the fulfillment of the will of the Father and His eternal Kingdom purpose. God has given us many promises in His word but we still must by Faith possess them. The word says faith comes by hearing, hearing what? Hearing the word of God. Then we must ask the Holy Spirit to reveal that truth to us by giving us an understanding of the word. Then we must choose to believe the word to be truth, and believe the word of God to be fact or we reject it and therefore walk in unbelief. Then if we believe God’s promises and His word to be truth then we should out of our mouth begin to speak it, decree it and declare it as the truth we have come to believe. In doing so we then begin to take ownership of the word and God’s promises and possess what God has given us as we see them as rightfully belonging to us. Because God has said, and He cannot lie. So I encourage you to read the word, study the word and discover and take hold of every beautiful nugget He has placed there in His word for you to find. He has put them there for you because He wants you to have them. It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Luke 12:32.
